Well Myasthenia is not always Gravis. At the same time anyone with abnormal muscle weakness will be likely to suffer a diminution of their quality of life. And who can identify and quantify at which point it becomes serious. And there lies one to the major problems in diagnosing MG.
When a patient presents with life threatening muscle weakness, Myasthenic Crisis, it is pretty easy for most doctors to recognise a problem and to diagnose MG. But many many thousands of patients present with much more unclear symptoms.
